Silence Is Golden

Mute streaming ads with a silvery-gold quote overlay. Configurable sites and shortcut.

Ads at best are an annoyance. At worst they ruin a emotionally powerful moment in a film or propagandize our minds subconsciously. This extension fixes that by: 1. Auto Muting Ads 2. Blurring and Dimming the screen during ads It also puts a thought provoking quote about advertising on the screen. This, as well as the dimming effect, blurring effect, and active sites can be configured by selecting "Silence is Golden" through the extension button right of the search bar. The manual override shortcut key is configured there as well. Websites and servers have the right of whether or not to provide content to you, but you have the right to control how that content is displayed on your machine. Modern streaming sites detect ad blockers and will not provide content as long as the ad blocker is active. This extension gets around this because you are still loading the ad and paying your time, you are just displaying the ad in a way that is less distracting.
