Overview

This extension allows the user to overlay videos of American Sign Language interpreting onto Disney+ and Netflix videos.

The SignUp Google Chrome Extension overlays American Sign Language (ASL), British Sign Language (BSL) and Indian Sign Language (ISL) interpretation on the streaming platforms, Disney+ and Netflix, for more accessible captioning. It is a media-accessibility tool as well as a learning tool for students of sign language. SignUp is a fun way for kids (and adults!) to enjoy mainstream movies. Really nice when it's working, but currently when I try to use it with Disney+ the interpreting videos near continuously glitch and jump all over the place time-wise (from synced to several minutes forward, to the end so YouTube shows an ad, to a different spot in the middle, to synced, and so forth) such that they become unusable and even distracting. This happens whether the extension is enabled within the streaming window or if I choose the option to show interpreting in a separate window.... Show more

I'm a beginner with ASL and this helps me so much! Great selection and I look forward to seeing what else is added. I'm glad there are some more adult/mature movies and hope for more for those who want to practice. I noticed that some interpreters would sign song lyrics, like when there's a song when no characters are talking, and others don't.
