Signet Draft creates a tamper-proof record of your writing process in Google Docs — without ever reading what you write. HOW IT WORKS When you open a Google Doc, Signet silently counts your edit events: keystrokes by category (insertions, deletions, cuts, undos, redos), paste events, and session timing. It records that writing happened, not what was written. At the end of each session, a fingerprint is synced to your personal Signet account. The result is a verifiable process record you own: timestamps showing when you wrote, how long you wrote, and that real editing and revision occurred — not just a paste job. YOUR WRITING STAYS PRIVATE Signet is built on a content-blind model. Your document text never leaves your browser. The extension counts edit events — it does not read keystrokes, clipboard contents, or document text. The only data recorded is: - Session timing (start, end, duration, pause periods) - Edit event counts by category — not which keys were pressed - Paste event character counts — not what was pasted - Revision signals — that deletions, cuts, and undos occurred, not what changed This is enforced architecturally, not by policy. The module that touches the network has no access to document content. You control your record entirely. You can exclude any document from recording at any time. The extension is invisible while you write — no popups, no interruptions, no alerts. Signet counts edit events — not keystrokes. It never records which keys were pressed, what was typed, what was pasted, or what was changed. REQUIREMENTS - A free Signet account at www.getsignet.app - Google Docs (docs.google.com) / Google account. - Chrome 114 or later Version 1.1.2 — bug fixes only, no new permissions or manifest changes. Fixed: paste source classification incorrectly flagging within-document pastes as external after tab switching. Fixed: Exclude button crash (chrome.tabs.getCurrent unavailable in content scripts). Fixed: annotation panel positioning during chip drag. Improved: annotation panel now collapsible with category filter; opens/closes on button toggle; auto-closes on tab switch or click-outside. Certify panel toggle matches same pattern. Settings toggle relocated into annotation panel. Document body content, formatting, images, embeds, and links are never read or transmitted.
