Sift removes the parts of YouTube designed to keep you scrolling. What it changes: • Replaces the home feed and Shorts with focused search • Shows text instead of thumbnails and recommendations • Removes comments and autoplay • Pauses before playback • Adds a gentle late-night reminder • Offers a five-minute pass when you intentionally want regular YouTube • Includes 50 hosted AI summaries or follow-up answers each month • Offers Sift Premium with unlimited chats • Stores only local settings and hourly watch totals Sift runs only on youtube.com. It does not save searches, URLs, titles, channels, video IDs, transcripts, questions, or AI answers. Hosted AI sends the selected transcript and recent chat context only when you request an answer.
