Overview

Blurs your AI chat history before you share your screen. A cursor spotlight keeps it readable to you, and nobody else.

You are about to share your screen. Your AI chat history is sitting in the sidebar every project name, every client, every half-finished idea and it is about to be on someone else's monitor. Sidelong blurs it. Not from you: move your cursor over the list and a small spotlight sharpens only the line you are actually reading. Everyone watching sees a blurred panel. You can still find and open any conversation. BEFORE YOU SHARE YOUR SCREEN • The chat-history sidebar blurs itself the moment you open the tab on Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini. No setup, nothing to remember. • One shortcut blurs and unblurs on the spot Alt+Shift+B, or Option+Shift+B on a Mac for when the call starts without warning. • One key blurs the entire screen when someone walks up Alt+Shift+A, ESC to bring it back. The spotlight keeps working, so you can still read and click while it is up. • Adjustable blur strength and spotlight size, and three reveal modes: a cursor spotlight, the whole area on hover, or never. • Choose the spotlight's shape: a circle, a square, or a bar that reads one chat title end to end. • Turn the blur into a solid colour curtain when a blur is not enough. ANYWHERE ELSE ON THE WEB • Pick your own areas to blur on any site: click an element, or drag a rectangle over anything. • Focus mode inverts it blur the whole page except the one area you want visible. Useful for demos, tutorials and screenshots. • Per-site on/off, and you can hand a site's permission back from the popup whenever you want. PRIVACY Sidelong collects nothing. No account, no analytics, no servers, no network requests of any kind. Your display preferences stay in your browser. The areas you pick and the sites you switch it off for never leave your device at all. Sidelong reads page layout only to find the areas it blurs never your content. Note: this is visual privacy, against people watching your screen on a call, over your shoulder in a café, or in a recording. It is not encryption, and it does not hide anything from software reading the page.
