Sidecar is a Nostr signer and Lightning wallet that lives in your browser's side panel. Your keys stay on your device, encrypted behind a PIN, and Sidecar provides window.nostr to the web apps you use, so you can sign in and sign events across Nostr clients without ever pasting your nsec into a website. KEYS & ACCOUNTS - Hold multiple accounts; drag to reorder and switch the active one in a click. - Generate a new key or import an existing nsec, with a profile preview so you import the right one. - Every private key is encrypted at rest (PBKDF2 + AES-GCM). Nothing is stored in plaintext, and the keystore auto-locks. - A paste guard stops you from dropping a secret key anywhere except the import field. SIGNING (NIP-07) - Full NIP-07 surface: getPublicKey, signEvent, nip04/nip44 encrypt and decrypt, getRelays. - Per-site permissions with a prompt that previews exactly what you're signing. - Each site stays pinned to the account it logged in with (no identity desync). LIGHTNING WALLET (NWC) - Connect any Nostr Wallet Connect wallet (Alby Hub, Rizful, YakiHonne, and more). Sidecar never holds your funds. - Send (BOLT11 or Lightning address), receive, and view history with full payment details. - Pay invoices on any page with one tap, and optionally auto-approve small zaps up to a limit you set. PROFILE & BACKUPS - View and edit your profile and publish kind 0. - Back up your profile, follows, and mute list encrypted to your own key on your relays, or export a signed JSON bundle. Sidecar is self-custodial: there is no recovery if you forget your PIN, so back up your nsecs. It runs entirely on your device — no accounts, no servers, no tracking.
