Overview

Right-click any photo. Luna teaches you why it works.

You know your photos could be better. Maybe it's the lighting, maybe it's the composition, maybe it's something you can't quite name. The frustrating part isn't taking the photo. It's not knowing what to fix. That's where I come in. I'm Luna, your AI photography coach, and I live right here in your browser. Right-click any photo on the web and I'll break down exactly what makes it work: the composition, the lighting, the color, the storytelling, the technical execution. Then I'll teach you how to shoot like that yourself. Photography is a skill, not a talent. You need someone to show you what to look for. HOW IT WORKS Right-click any photo on the web and select "Ask Luna about this photo." I'll open in a side panel next to the page so you can study the image and read my feedback at the same time. No tab switching, no copying and pasting. The photo stays right where you found it. You can also hover over any image and look for my crescent icon. That's your shortcut to start an analysis. Prefer the keyboard? Press Cmd+Shift+L (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+L (Windows) to open my side panel anytime. TWO WAYS TO LEARN Study Mode Browse the web like you normally do. When a photo catches your eye, right-click it and ask me about it. I'll analyze the photographer's choices and explain what makes the shot work. This is how you train your eye: by studying great work and understanding the decisions behind it. Every photo on the internet becomes a learning opportunity. Editorial spreads, travel blogs, portfolio sites, photo communities. Wherever you find images that stop your scroll, I'm one right-click away. Coach Mode Upload your own photos directly and get personal coaching. I'll give you specific, actionable feedback on your work with guidance tailored to where you are in your journey. This isn't generic encouragement. I'll tell you exactly what's working, what's not, and what to try next time. Drag and drop a photo, paste from your clipboard, or browse your files. I'll resize everything automatically so you don't have to worry about file sizes. WHAT I TEACH YOU Every analysis covers five dimensions of photography: Composition and Visual Flow How the elements in the frame guide your eye. Rule of thirds, leading lines, negative space, foreground anchoring, visual weight. I'll show you how the photographer arranged the scene and what you can learn from their choices. Lighting Quality and Direction Light is the language of photography. I'll break down the quality (hard vs. soft), direction (front, side, back, overhead), color temperature, and how light shapes mood. Whether it's golden hour, studio strobes, or window light, I'll help you read it. Color Harmony and Mood How color palettes work together to create feeling. Complementary pairs, analogous schemes, color temperature, saturation choices. I'll explain why certain color combinations evoke specific emotions and how you can use that intentionally. Storytelling and Emotional Impact What the photo communicates beyond the technical. Subject placement, moment selection, environmental context, visual narrative. Every photograph tells a story, and I'll help you see what story yours is telling. Technical Execution When EXIF data is available, I'll analyze the camera settings: aperture, shutter speed, ISO, focal length. When it's not, I'll make educated assessments based on depth of field, motion rendering, and noise characteristics. Either way, you'll understand the technical choices that shaped the final image. Each dimension gets a score from 1 to 10, so you can see at a glance where a photo excels and where it falls short. Over time, you'll start noticing these patterns before I even point them out. That's when you know your eye is developing. ASK FOLLOW-UP QUESTIONS Finished reading my analysis? Keep the conversation going. Ask me anything about the photo, the technique, or how to apply what you've learned to your own shooting. "How would I recreate this lighting at home?" "What lens would give me this depth of field?" "I shoot similar scenes but mine never look this good. What am I missing?" I'll give you specific, practical answers. Not theory for theory's sake. Real guidance you can use on your next shoot. YOUR CRITIQUE HISTORY Every analysis is saved so you can revisit it later. Browse your history by date, see thumbnails of every photo you've studied, and re-read feedback anytime. It's like building a personal photography textbook, one critique at a time. Your history syncs across sessions when you're signed in, so you never lose your learning. PRIVACY FIRST Your photos are never stored on our servers. Analysis is ephemeral: I look at the photo, give you feedback, and the image data is gone. Here's what that means in practice: - Photos are processed in the moment and never saved server-side - All your critique history stays in your browser (and optionally synced to your account) - The extension does not access your browsing history - No tracking pixels, no third-party data sharing - You can export all your data as JSON anytime - You can delete your account and all associated data permanently I built this to help you take better photos, not to collect your data. DESIGNED FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS The interface is purpose-built for looking at photography. Dark theme reduces eye strain and puts the focus on the images. The side panel sits alongside the webpage so you can compare my notes against the actual photo. Scores are color-coded and easy to scan. Everything respects your system preferences: reduced motion, screen reader compatibility, keyboard navigation, and browser zoom all work the way you'd expect. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? Try everything free for 5 days. Full access, no limits, no credit card required. Sign up and start learning. After your trial, keep Luna forever for a one-time purchase of $9.99. No subscription, no recurring charges, no "premium tiers." One price, all features, yours for life. Here's what you get: During your trial and after purchase: - Unlimited photo analyses in Study and Coach mode - Unlimited follow-up chat messages - Full-depth feedback (4 insights per skill, detailed explanations) - High-resolution image analysis (2048px) - Complete critique history with sync - Data export - All future updates After your trial without purchasing: - 1 free critique per day so you can keep learning at your own pace I'm not going anywhere. Your $9.99 unlocks lifetime access, and that means lifetime. A NOTE ABOUT PERMISSIONS Chrome shows a warning that says "Read your browsing activity" when you install ShutterCoach. Here's the honest explanation: the extension uses the "tabs" permission for one specific reason. When you complete a purchase through Stripe, I need to detect that the checkout page succeeded so I can confirm your purchase and close the tab automatically. That's it. I do not read, collect, or store any browsing activity. Every other permission is explained below: - Context menus: Adds "Ask Luna about this photo" to your right-click menu on images - Active tab: Reads the image URL from the page when you right-click (only activated by your action) - Storage: Saves your preferences and critique history locally in your browser - Side panel: Displays my analysis alongside the webpage - Downloads: Lets you export your complete analysis history as a file - Clipboard: Lets you copy analysis text and images from the share options BUILT BY PHOTOGRAPHERS, FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS ShutterCoach was built by someone who got tired of posting photos online and getting nothing but "nice shot!" in return. That kind of feedback doesn't help you grow. You deserve to know specifically what's working in your photos, what's holding them back, and exactly what to practice next. That's what Luna does. Every single time. Whether you're picking up a camera for the first time or you've been shooting for years and want to sharpen your eye, Luna meets you where you are. No gatekeeping, no jargon walls, no judgment. Photography is a skill. Let's build yours. Questions or feedback?
