Hides YouTube Shorts in home, sidebar and search. Redirects /shorts/* to the normal player. No tracking.

ShortsOff hides YouTube Shorts everywhere they appear: home feed, sidebar, and search results. It also redirects any /shorts/* link to the standard watch view, so you never see vertical short-form videos. ## What it does - Hides the Shorts carousel on the YouTube home page. - Removes the "Shorts" entry from the sidebar. - Hides Shorts shelves in search results. - Redirects youtube.com/shorts/<id> to youtube.com/watch?v=<id> so the video plays in the regular horizontal player. ## Privacy first - No remote code. - No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking. - No outgoing network requests. - The only host permission is youtube.com. - The toggle state is stored locally with chrome.storage.local and never leaves your browser. The full extension fits in a few dozen lines and can be read in minutes. Nothing is hidden. ## How to use 1. Install from the Chrome Web Store. 2. Click the ShortsOff icon in your toolbar. 3. Toggle the switch to enable or disable the blocking. Your choice persists across sessions. ## Known limitations The extension relies on YouTube's current DOM structure. If YouTube changes its selectors, the extension may stop working until it's updated.
