ShortsLock — YouTube Shorts Redirect
Overview
Redirect YouTube Shorts to the normal Watch page to avoid the Shorts feed. Includes a temporary unlock pass.
ShortsLock hides the addictive YouTube Shorts feed by redirecting Shorts to the normal Watch page. Instead of blocking content or modifying YouTube’s interface, ShortsLock changes how Shorts are consumed: any /shorts/... page automatically opens as a regular /watch?v=... video. You still watch the same video, but without the endless vertical feed. What ShortsLock does: • Redirects youtube.com/shorts/... to youtube.com/watch?v=... • Removes the infinite Shorts feed while keeping the content • Works with all YouTube navigation types, including internal SPA navigation • Includes a temporary “Unlock 5 minutes” mode when you need access to the Shorts feed Why this approach works: Most “hide Shorts” or “disable Shorts” extensions rely on fragile CSS or DOM modifications that often break when YouTube updates. ShortsLock works at the navigation level, making it lightweight, stable, and more future-proof. Privacy and permissions: ShortsLock does not collect or transmit any data. No analytics, no tracking, and no external servers are used. All functionality runs locally in your browser using standard Chrome extension APIs. How to use: • LOCK: Shorts open as normal Watch videos (no Shorts feed) • Unlock 5 min: Temporarily allow the real Shorts feed, then automatically switch back to Lock Support development: https://buymeacoffee.com/nightintel
