Overview

Set a persistent playback speed (0.25x-4x, defaults to 2x) and auto-scroll through YouTube Shorts once each finishes a loop.

Shorts Turbo gives you the one thing YouTube never has: a playback speed that stays put. ▬▬▬ THE PROBLEM ▬▬▬ YouTube resets playback speed on every single Short. Set it to 2x, scroll to the next one, and you're back at 1x. There's no setting anywhere to make it stick — so you either keep re-setting it by hand, over and over, or you give up and watch everything at normal speed. ▬▬▬ SPEED THAT ACTUALLY STICKS ▬▬▬ Pick anything from 0.25x to 4x and Shorts Turbo re-applies it to every Short you scroll to. Automatically. Every time. Including when YouTube tries to reset it mid-playback. It ships set to 2x out of the box, because that's what most people want. Use the slider for fine control in 0.25x steps, or tap a preset: 1x, 1.5x, 2x, 3x. ▬▬▬ KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS ▬▬▬ Press < and > to step the speed down and up without opening the popup — the same keys YouTube itself uses for playback speed, so they're already muscle memory. The new speed flashes on screen so you get confirmation even with the popup closed. They stay out of your way while you're typing: press < in a search or comment box and it just types the character, as it should. ▬▬▬ HANDS-FREE AUTO-SCROLL ▬▬▬ Turn on Auto-Scroll and Shorts Turbo advances to the next Short as soon as the current one finishes playing through. No thumb required — good for catching up on a feed while your hands are busy. Toggle it off any time and scrolling goes straight back to normal. It's off by default, so nothing changes until you ask for it. ▬▬▬ HONEST ABOUT ITSELF ▬▬▬ The popup tells you whether the extension is genuinely working on the page you're looking at — not merely that you happen to be on a Short. If something isn't running, it says so and tells you what to do, instead of showing a confident "2x" while nothing happens. ▬▬▬ PRIVACY: IT COLLECTS NOTHING ▬▬▬ No analytics. No tracking. No accounts. No servers. No network requests of any kind. The only thing Shorts Turbo stores is your three settings — whether speed control is on, your chosen speed, and whether auto-scroll is on — kept in your own browser by Chrome. There is nothing to collect, because the extension never sends anything anywhere. The full privacy policy is deliberately short and worth the thirty seconds. It runs only on YouTube Shorts and never touches the regular YouTube video player. ▬▬▬ ▬▬▬ ▬▬▬ Shorts Turbo is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google LLC.
