Shorts Switcher
Overview
Choose whether YouTube Shorts stay in Shorts format or open as regular watch pages.
Shorts Switcher gives you control over how YouTube Shorts open. Many people dislike the Shorts format because it is harder to scrub through, less convenient to share, and visually different from the standard YouTube watch page. At the same time, some users still want to browse Shorts and only switch formats when needed. Shorts Switcher is built for both kinds of users. Features: - Choose whether Shorts are allowed or rejected by default - If Shorts are allowed, Shorts open normally - If Shorts are rejected, Shorts automatically open as standard YouTube watch pages - On a Shorts page, click the extension icon to convert the current Short into a regular watch page - In Allow Shorts mode, converted videos can also switch back to Shorts - In Reject Shorts mode, switching is one-way to keep the experience consistent - Supports English and Traditional Chinese - Includes optional keyboard shortcut support Why it is different: Instead of forcing one behavior on everyone, Shorts Switcher supports both users who dislike Shorts entirely and users who still want to browse Shorts but occasionally prefer the regular YouTube player. This makes it easier to: - scrub through a video timeline - share a normal watch URL - use the familiar YouTube page layout - choose the format that fits the moment
