ShiStart takes over your browser's new tab and lays out the bookmarks you already have in Chrome / Edge — no import, no sign-up; what you see right after installing is your own library. ▍What it does • Two-pane browsing: a folder tree on the left that mirrors your browser exactly; folders with children render as groups, leaf folders lay out as icon cards on the right • Whole-library search: matches titles, URLs and folder names — not just the folder you are in • Organize in place: create folders, rename, drag to reorder, delete — deletions land in a built-in trash and can be restored within 30 days; multi-select for batch actions • Recently visited: hover the right edge and a panel of pages you just had open slides out — one click to revisit • Optional sync: keep bookmarks and UI preferences in step across devices via your own WebDAV server — off by default, you supply the address • Snapshots & export: restore your bookmarks to any past moment; export to HTML / JSON and back up settings • A comfortable UI: English & Simplified Chinese, several palettes × light/dark, and cards-per-row is up to you ▍Why install it • Zero setup: no import and no second copy — every new tab reads the browser's native bookmarks live, so the two can never drift apart • Your data stays yours: no accounts, no analytics, nothing uploaded; even sync goes to the server you name • Five permissions only, each one explained in the privacy policy • Open source (MIT), code is public For people with many bookmarks, several devices, and a wish that the new tab did something useful.
