Shigang - ChatGPT Table of Contents

Navigate long ChatGPT conversations with a table of contents, collapsible headings, math support, and a reading-follow sidebar.

Shigang adds a table of contents to long ChatGPT conversations. Browse a collapsible conversation outline, find the section you need, and jump directly to its heading instead of scrolling back and forth. Features • Organize H1–H6 headings by assistant response, with the related user prompt. • Jump to a heading or prompt and collapse responses or nested sections. • Follow your reading position as you scroll the conversation, without highlighting the answer. • Resize the outline sidebar and remember your preferred width on this device. The sidebar adapts to the available space beside the answer and collapses when there is not enough room. • Preserve rendered Markdown formatting and math in headings and prompt previews, including fractions, powers and matrices when the page provides MathML. Long formulas can scroll horizontally. • Update the outline as replies stream, headings change or you switch conversations. • Use light or dark mode and keyboard navigation. English and Simplified Chinese interface labels are supported. Getting started Install the extension, refresh ChatGPT, and click Outline near the upper-right corner. For Chinese interface users, the button is labeled 目录. The outline includes only messages currently loaded on the page; it does not download your full chat history. Responses without H1–H6 headings do not generate heading entries. Changes to the ChatGPT website may affect compatibility. Privacy All outline processing takes place locally in your browser. Shigang does not upload conversations or provide telemetry, advertising tracking or remote code. Only your preferred sidebar width is saved locally; messages and outlines are never persisted.
