ShieldPress — WordPress Security Monitor is the official Chrome extension for ShieldPress.net. It brings real-time monitoring of your WordPress sites, VPS servers, and apps directly into your browser toolbar. REAL-TIME MONITORING AT A GLANCE Open the popup to instantly see the status of all your monitored resources — no need to visit the dashboard. A compact stats bar shows sites up/down, VPS online, apps count, and active alerts at a glance. WORDPRESS SITE MONITORING - Uptime/downtime status with animated indicators - HTTP response time and status code tracking - SSL certificate expiry countdown - Domain expiry countdown - CPU, RAM, and Disk usage metrics - Health score (out of 100) - Uptime streak tracking VPS SERVER MONITORING - Online/offline status detection - CPU, RAM, and Disk usage with color-coded thresholds - Last report timestamps - One-click access to full server details APP MONITORING - Track Node.js, Laravel, and other framework apps - Production/staging environment labels - CPU, memory, and response time metrics INSTANT DESKTOP NOTIFICATIONS Never miss a critical event. ShieldPress sends desktop notifications when: - A site goes DOWN or recovers - A VPS goes OFFLINE or comes back ONLINE - SSL or domain certificates are about to expire - Security vulnerabilities or malware are detected Notifications persist until dismissed, so you won't miss anything even when you're away. CONFIGURABLE POLLING Choose how often ShieldPress checks your resources: every 1, 2, 5, or 10 minutes. Polling runs in the background even when the popup is closed, using Chrome's Alarms API for reliable scheduling. SITE INSPECTOR WIDGET When you visit one of your monitored WordPress sites, a floating widget appears in the bottom-right corner showing: - Live status (UP/DOWN) with color-coded indicator - Response time, CPU, RAM, and Disk usage - SSL and domain expiry countdowns - Unread alert count for that specific site - Click to jump directly to the site's detail page The widget can be toggled on/off from the Settings page. CONTEXTUAL POPUP BANNER When you open the extension popup while browsing one of your monitored sites, a contextual banner appears with detailed metrics for that specific site, including a 24-hour uptime percentage. SMART ALERT MANAGEMENT - Alerts tab organized by HTTP issues and recent events - Color-coded alert types: downtime, recovery, SSL expiry, security/malware - Alerts auto-marked as read when viewed - Badge counter on the toolbar icon shows unread alert count - Badge color changes: red for active downtime, amber for warnings SECURE AUTHENTICATION - Email/password login with Two-Factor Authentication (TOTP) support - One-click "Sync from Dashboard" — if you're already logged into app.shieldpress.net, sync your session instantly without re-entering credentials - Email verification required for security SETTINGS - Enable/disable the Site Inspector widget - Adjust polling interval - View connected account info - Quick links to the web dashboard and notification preferences ------------------------------------------------------------ REQUIREMENTS - A ShieldPress account (sign up free at shieldpress.net) - At least one monitored site, VPS, or app configured in your ShieldPress dashboard PRIVACY ShieldPress only communicates with api.shieldpress.net and app.shieldpress.net. No browsing data is collected or transmitted. The content script only activates on domains that match your monitored sites.
