Click an example to hear it read aloud. • If it is a new word, an entry form will open with the Chinese characters and the original sentence already filled in. Simply add the meaning, choose a vocabulary collection, and save. Do not want the panel to appear whenever you highlight something? You can open the same panel using the right-click menu or the Alt+Shift+S keyboard shortcut. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ YOUR SAVED WORDS AUTOMATICALLY APPEAR IN YOUR DICTIONARY The words you save are stored on your device. When you open app.sharedee.com, they are automatically added to your Sharedee Dictionary—no sync button and no need to enter them again. Once they are in your Dictionary, you can use them across Sharedee: review them with flashcards, add them to lessons, practise reading, or create quizzes. That means a word you picked up while scrolling through Facebook this morning can already be part of your flashcard review set by the evening. You can organise words into vocabulary collections as you save them. Choose an existing collection or create a new one directly from the extension without leaving the page you are reading. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ LOOK UP WORDS WITHOUT AN INTERNET CONNECTION The extension stores a local copy of your personal dictionary directly on your device. This makes every lookup instant, with no waiting for an internet connection and no AI credits required. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WE DO NOT READ THE PAGES YOU VISIT An extension that can run across websites deserves careful scrutiny. Here is exactly what Sharedee does—and does not do: • It does not read page content unless you ask it to. It only processes the specific text you highlight, at the exact moment you request it. • It does not send your browsing history anywhere. Dictionary lookups are processed locally on your device. • It contains no advertising, does not track your behaviour, and does not sell your data to third parties. • It does not store your passwords or login credentials. You sign in through the Sharedee website as usual. • By default, it does NOT request permission to read every website you visit. To make the lookup panel appear automatically when you highlight text, you must enable this permission yourself—for one website or for all websites.
