Bring shapcn with you and watch your favorite websites come to life. shapcn everywhere makes the small icons on the pages you already use come alive. Point at an icon and it plays a short motion. Press it and it pops, squashes, jumps or bursts. Your click still goes to the page, every time. It works on the icons a page already has: like and reply buttons, toolbars, menus, player controls, navigation bars. It does not change the layout, the colors or the page. The motion is drawn on a copy of the icon that sits on top for a moment, and then the original icon is back, exactly as it was. How to use it 1. Add the extension. Open any website with small icons (about 12 to 48 pixels). 2. Point at an icon, or click it. 3. Click the extension button to choose a hover style, a click style and the strength (0.5 to 3). 4. Use "Off on this site" to turn it off for one site. Use "Enabled" to turn it off everywhere. 5. Changes apply at once to the tabs that are open. Tabs that were open before you added the extension need one reload. Styles - Hover: grow, bend, bold, cascade, move. - Click: pop, squash, squat-jump, burst. - Choose "None" to turn one of the two off. Private by design - It makes no network request at all. It has no server, no analytics and no account. - It collects nothing. It reads the shape and color of the small icon under your pointer, in memory, only to draw it again, and it forgets it. - It stores only your own settings (on or off, the two styles, the strength, and the list of sites you turned off) in Chrome sync storage. - All code is inside the extension. It loads no code from the internet. - It needs one permission (storage) and one content script. Respects reduced motion If your system is set to reduce motion, the extension does nothing. If you turn that setting on while an icon moves, the motion stops at once. Limits - It animates inline SVG icons. It does not animate icon fonts, pictures (img tags) or CSS background icons. - It skips an icon that it cannot draw exactly like the original: for example an icon with a gradient, a mask, a clip, or shapes that use different line ends. It also skips some icons that come from a shared sprite when a page has very many style rules or a style sheet from another site. - It does not run inside frames (iframes) or on pages that Chrome does not let extensions touch (the Chrome Web Store, chrome:// pages). - Touch screens: a tap plays the click style. The hover style does not play on touch. The motion comes from the open source shapcn engine (MIT license) at https://shapcn.com. The icons in the screenshots are from Lucide (ISC license).
