SFDC Metadata Navigator
Overview
Instant search and navigation to Salesforce metadata items
SFDC Metadata Navigator is a productivity tool for Salesforce administrators and developers. FEATURES • Metadata Search — Instantly fuzzy-search Profiles, Permission Sets, Flows, Apex Classes, Triggers, Page Layouts, Validation Rules, Email Templates, Custom Metadata Types, Custom Labels, Users, and more. Click any result to jump straight to it in Setup. • Field Inspector — Hover over any field on a record page to see its API name, data type, help text, and an inline Field-Level Security summary showing which profiles and permission sets have read/edit access. • Org Health Scanner — Select Apex classes and scan them for common anti-patterns: SOQL/DML inside loops, missing bulkification, hardcoded record IDs, SOQL injection risks, and missing sharing declarations. All analysis is rule-based and runs locally. • Org Info Dashboard — View your org ID, type, API version, current user details, API limit consumption, and storage usage with drill-down breakdowns by object and file type. • Recently Viewed — Quick access to the records you just worked on, right from the popup. HOW IT WORKS The extension uses your existing Salesforce browser session — no Connected App, no OAuth configuration, no separate login. It works on any Salesforce org (production, sandbox, developer edition). PRIVACY Everything runs locally in your browser. No data is ever sent to any third-party server. No analytics, no tracking. Open source on GitHub.
