Overview
See what your Salesforce org actually says. Inspect and search metadata and edit translations without leaving your org.
Sextant shows what the text on a Salesforce Lightning page really is: the Custom Label, field, picklist value, button, layout section or other metadata behind it, together with its API name and translations in every language enabled in the org. Fix a translation where you found it, search for the metadata behind a phrase from a ticket, and see what changed. INSPECT ON HOVER Hold Shift and point at a label, field, picklist value or button on a Lightning page. Sextant shows: • what it is: Custom Label, custom field, picklist value, record type, button, tab, layout section and more • its API name, ready to copy, and help text when available • every language enabled in the org, side by side, including missing translations When Sextant cannot determine the origin of a piece of text, it says "Unknown origin". It does not present a list of guesses. TRANSLATE ALL Press Alt+T to mark translatable elements on the current page. Filter by missing, identical-to-source or complete translations, then move through the results while the page scrolls to each element. Missing translations can be edited in place. SEARCH THE WHOLE ORG Search by label, API name or translation in any enabled language. For example, paste the Dutch wording from a support ticket and find the field or component it belongs to. Exact matches come first, and every result explains why it matched. Press Alt+K to open Search from any Salesforce page. EDIT WITH CARE Edit translations for Custom Labels, custom fields, custom picklist values, record types, buttons and links, quick actions, layout sections, custom tabs and apps. Sextant can also create new Custom Labels together with their translations. Before saving, Sextant re-reads the current value so it does not overwrite a newer change. Saving to a production org requires confirmation, and Salesforce errors are shown directly when a save is rejected. Standard fields and standard picklist values remain read-only because Sextant does not use write paths that it cannot handle safely and consistently. WORKSPACE Keep the components you are working on together. Group them, pin them, add notes, translate them side by side, and export a package.xml for deployment. ACTIVITY AND COMPARISON Activity shows changes observed between Sextant reads, translations edited through Sextant, and Setup Audit Trail events when the user imports them. Compare translations between two orgs, such as Production and a sandbox, to see what differs, what is missing and what exists in only one org. PRIVACY Sextant has no backend and no account system. It communicates only with the user's Salesforce org using the existing Salesforce session. There is no analytics, telemetry or advertising. Data retained by Sextant stays in the browser profile, where it can be viewed, exported and deleted from Settings. WHO IT IS FOR Salesforce admins, developers, consultants and localization teams working with multilingual orgs. REQUIREMENTS Salesforce Lightning Experience and a Salesforce user with API access. Sextant's interface is available in English and Spanish, with light and dark themes. Sextant is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Salesforce.
