Sether Shield — PII guard for AI chat
Overview
Catches personal data in your prompt before it reaches ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. 100% local — nothing leaves your browser.
Sether Shield catches personal data in your prompt before you send it to an AI. As you type into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, Sether Shield scans your message locally — right in your browser — for things you probably don't want to hand to a third party: email addresses, phone numbers, credit-card and bank numbers, national IDs, API keys and other secrets, and names. When it finds something, a small shield turns orange. One click scrubs the sensitive parts into placeholders like [email-1] before the message ever leaves your computer. 100% local. The extension makes no network calls, has no analytics, and never sends your text anywhere. Its only permission is local storage, used to remember whether it's on. No account, no sign-in. Open source and auditable. Sether Shield is part of Sether, the open-source PII-redaction layer for AI apps. It doesn't replace your company's policies or a lawyer — it's a fast, private guardrail so you stop pasting secrets into AI by accident.
