ServiceNow Work Notes Highlighter
Overview
Highlights Work Notes (Private) yellow in ServiceNow CSM so agents instantly spot internal notes from customer-facing comments.
ServiceNow CSM displays customer-facing comments and internal Work Notes (Private) side by side in the same activity feed. The whole used to be highlighted prior to the Zurich update, but now the only visual difference is a small lock icon — easy to miss, especially under pressure. This extension solves that by applying a clear yellow highlight to every Work Notes field, so there's no guessing which notes are internal and which are visible to the customer. WHAT IT HIGHLIGHTS • The compose editor whenever "Work notes (Private)" tab is active • All posted work note cards in the activity feed HOW IT WORKS The extension injects a small content script that runs only on *.service-now.com pages. It detects work note fields using ServiceNow's own aria-label attributes and applies a yellow background using a scoped stylesheet injected into ServiceNow's Shadow DOM components. PERMISSIONS This extension requires no special permissions. It has no access to any website other than *.service-now.com, sends no data anywhere, and stores nothing. COMPATIBILITY Works with ServiceNow's CSM/Next Experience UI (Web Components architecture). Tested on the CSM Configurable Workspace.
