SEO Tag Inspector shows the SEO tags of the page you are on, in one click. Open any page, click the icon, and you get: • HTTP status — the status code the page was served with, plus how many redirects it went through. • Robots — the crawler directives in effect, from both the robots meta tag and the site's robots.txt. When there is no robots meta tag the card says the page is indexable rather than leaving you guessing. The robots.txt line tells you whether this exact URL is allowed or disallowed, and which rule decided it. noindex, nofollow and googlebot-specific tags are called out, and conflicting tags are flagged. • Canonical — resolved to an absolute URL, marked "self" or "different URL", and flagged when a page carries more than one canonical tag. • Hreflang — every alternate link with its language code, with warnings for duplicate languages and a missing x-default. • Title — the exact text plus its character count, flagged when it falls outside the 30-65 range or when the page has more than one title tag. • Description — the meta description with its character count against the 70-160 range. Falls back to og:description and tells you when it did. • H1 / H2 / H3 — every heading in document order. Hidden headings are labelled, multiple H1s are flagged, and an H3 used without any H2 is called out as a skipped level. It also catches the classic mistake of blocking a page in robots.txt while relying on a noindex meta tag: crawlers never fetch the page, so they never see the noindex, and the URL can stay in the index. Every value has its own copy button that appears when you hover it, so you can lift a single URL or heading without taking the whole block. "Copy All" puts the entire report on your clipboard as plain text — handy for tickets, audits and spreadsheets. Open it as a popup, or dock it to the side panel so the report stays open next to the page while you work. One click switches between the two. Light and dark themes, switched with one click. Your choice is remembered. PRIVACY Page data is read under the activeTab permission: only the tab you are looking at, only at the moment you click the icon, plus that same site's robots.txt. Nothing else is accessed. The extension has no analytics and no account, and makes no request to any third-party server — your browsing never leaves your browser. Its background service worker does one thing: remember whether you prefer the popup or the side panel. Note: directives sent through the X-Robots-Tag HTTP header are not visible to the extension, because reading response headers would require a broader permission than activeTab. Note: browser-internal pages (chrome://, edge://, about:, view-source:, devtools:) and local files cannot be scanned. Chrome blocks extensions from running there.
