Sentmine turns the videos you already watch into language practice. DUAL SUBTITLES • The language you learn and your own at the same time, over the video or in a panel below it. Works on the most popular video sites and online courses. • Interface in English or Spanish. • Learn English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Turkish or Indonesian, with the translation in your language. • Lines that cut a sentence in half are joined, so you see, repeat and study whole sentences. • Choose the size, the background and which line to show. Hide the original line to train your ear. DICTIONARY • Hover any word for its translation, definition and pronunciation (IPA). Click to pin the card. • Mark words as learning, known or skipped and see them highlighted in the subtitles. • English phrasal verbs are recognised (give up, look forward to…). AI THAT EXPLAINS THE SCENE • "Explain in context" tells you what a line means in its scene: a natural translation, idioms, grammar and how the word is used. Free with an account (up to 10 a day). • It is added to your card automatically. MINE FLASHCARDS IN ONE KEY • Alt+Shift+M sends the sentence, its natural translation, the key word, a link to the source and the exact audio clip straight to your flashcard app. No files to export or import. Or mine just one word. • Optional screenshot of the scene, where the site allows it. • One deck per video, or always the deck you choose: see your decks from the extension icon. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT • Sentmine starts switched off on every page: you turn it on. • Without an account everything stays in your browser and your computer. No ads, no analytics. • An optional account (email code, no password) syncs your vocabulary, settings and card history, and is needed for the AI.
