Seekmory — Private Semantic History Search
Overview
Find history by meaning or keyword. Local search, Quick Search, filters, 30-day recycle bin, CSV backup. Data never uploaded.
Remember what a page was about, but not its title? Find it again by meaning, with your browsing history kept private. Seekmory replaces Chrome’s History page with a searchable local archive. Search saved pages by keyword or meaning, narrow the results with filters, and manage the records you want to keep. Search and semantic processing run on your device; browsing data is never uploaded. 1. Find pages by meaning, even when you forget the title Start with a title, website, phrase or another clue. Keyword search checks saved titles, URLs and available short summaries. If you remember the idea rather than the exact wording, choose Try semantic search at the end of the keyword results to find related pages by meaning. The search icon shows the current mode; the button switches it. Use a calendar day or date range, then combine keywords with website and source-device filters. Exact visit-date filters cover the current month and previous 11 months; older archived page details can still be found without a date filter. 2. Delete with a review first, and a recycle bin for mistakes Review records matching keywords, a website, dates or a saved source-device name. Delete a selection, all matches or all saved records. Seekmory moves deleted records to its local recycle bin first. Restore them within 30 days unless you permanently delete them or empty the bin. Recovery covers deletions made through Seekmory, not history erased directly in Chrome settings. Linked old Chrome visits are cleaned at expiry when Seekmory runs, or cleanup starts when permanent deletion is confirmed. Later new visits are kept. The separate Clear archive action removes local archive data and stops archiving while leaving Chrome history intact. 3. Keep a long-term private archive on your device Initialization imports the history Chrome can still provide, normally up to the most recent 90 days. As you browse, Seekmory keeps building your archive. Saved page records do not automatically expire at 90 days, so you can still find those pages later. Installation cannot recreate history Chrome has already lost. Browsing history, summaries, search terms and semantic processing stay on your device. No account is required to use the archive. Search saved records offline; opening an online page can still require an internet connection. The archive stores links and short summaries, not full offline copies of websites. 4. Open Quick Search over the page you are already viewing Stay on an ordinary HTTP/HTTPS webpage and press Alt+Y, or Option+Y (⌥Y) on Mac. Quick Search opens over the current page, so you can start searching without opening a new tab or selecting the address bar. The actual shortcut can be changed in Chrome’s extension shortcut settings. Chrome internal pages and the Chrome Web Store do not support this panel. Use Up and Down to select a result, Enter to open it in a new active tab, and Esc to close the panel. View all results opens the full Seekmory history page with the current query and search mode. Opening the panel creates no new tab; opening a result does. 5. Understand your browsing and manage your own backups See frequently visited websites, pages you return to, active hours and recent visit trends. These insights are calculated locally. Export your archive as CSV for a backup you control, or import a compatible CSV archive to restore or transfer saved records. Import and export happen locally, without uploading the archive to Seekmory. 6. Free essentials, with an optional one-time Pro upgrade Local archiving, keyword search, time/site/device filters, deletion, browsing insights and CSV import/export are free. Free also includes 10 entries into semantic search, counted cumulatively on this installation. History and quick search share the allowance, and the interface shows how many entries remain. Changing your query or loading more results within the same semantic session does not spend another entry. Seekmory Pro is a one-time purchase of US$9.90 that permanently unlocks unlimited semantic-search entries in the activated Chrome profile. There is no subscription. The activation key is verified locally, and everyday use stays offline. Checkout opens on the external Seekmory website only when you choose to continue. Creem is the merchant of record; Seekmory is operated by Johnie. Google does not sell this purchase. Browsing history, page content and search terms are never included in the checkout request, and the extension does not handle payment-card details. Review purchase, refund and support information on the purchase website before paying. How your data is handled Seekmory's single purpose is to let you browse and search your own Chrome history in a local archive. Seekmory reads Chrome History data, including page titles, full URLs, visit times, visit counts, and available device/source information. On HTTP and HTTPS pages you visit, Seekmory locally extracts the page title, URL, and a short, bounded summary. On email, chat, or other communication pages, that bounded visible-text summary may include personal communications displayed on the page. Seekmory also processes the search terms, filters, and deletion commands you enter. This information is used only for Seekmory's user-visible local history browsing, search, filtering, deletion, backup, and archive insights. It is processed and stored on your device in the extension database. Seekmory does not upload or transmit browsing history, page content, search terms, embeddings, or indexes to the developer or third parties, and does not use them for advertising or analytics. Full page bodies, passwords, form entries, authentication cookies and payment-card details are not stored in the archive.
