SecureView runs quietly in the background, tracking how long you actively spend on each website and automatically organising every site into one of 20+ categories — so you always know where your browsing time really goes. WHAT IT DOES SecureView measures your active browsing time — not just time spent with a tab open, but time when you are genuinely using the page. It detects mouse movement, keyboard input, and scrolling, and automatically pauses when you step away, switch windows, or your device goes idle. At the end of the day you get a clear picture: which categories consumed the most time, which sites you visited, and how your habits compare across previous days. Results are cached on your device for 30 days, so a recognised domain is looked up once rather than on every visit. • Daily history — Browse your stats day by day, plus a 7-day view that shows how your time shifted across the week. • Site search — Instantly filter your visited sites by hostname, title, or category. • Domain exclusion — Exclude any site from tracking with one tap. Its data is cleared from today's record and it is never tracked again. • Local storage — Your browsing records live on your device in Chrome's storage APIs, and are automatically deleted after 7 days. • Zero configuration — Install and forget. No account, no sign-in, no setup. HOW THE AI CLASSIFICATION WORKS SecureView tries a rule-based engine first, matching domains and keywords against a curated list on your device — no network call. For sites it cannot classify locally, it sends the page URL (with query string and fragment stripped), the hostname, and the page title to a serverless AWS pipeline: CloudFront → Lambda@Edge → API Gateway → Lambda → Amazon Bedrock Classification runs in the cloud, not on your device. The extension holds no API key or shared secret of any kind — the request is signed at the CloudFront edge, where your browser never sees the credential. If the service is unreachable, SecureView falls back silently to "Other" — no errors, no disruption. YOUR PRIVACY SecureView has no accounts, sets no cookies, assigns no identifiers, and sells nothing. Your browsing records are stored locally and deleted after 7 days. Two things do leave your device, and we'd rather be plain about them: • For sites the built-in rules can't classify, the URL path, hostname, and page title are sent to the AI pipeline above. Query strings and fragments are stripped first, so search terms and session tokens never leave. • Site icons in the popup are loaded from Google's public favicon service, which means Google sees the hostnames shown there.
