SectionKit — Component Capture
Overview
Select a section, inspect a safe snapshot and its limitations, then export a brief for your coding assistant.
Turn a website section into a clearer starting point for your next build. SectionKit lets you select a section on a webpage, review a static snapshot, and export a structured brief with HTML, observed CSS and an optional reference screenshot for your AI coding assistant. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open a regular website and click the SectionKit toolbar icon. 2. Choose “Select a section” and click the element you want. Use the arrow keys to move to its parent or child. 3. Review the isolated preview, reference image, colors, font names and capture limitations. 4. Describe your changes and choose HTML + CSS, React + Tailwind CSS, or Vue + CSS as the target for the brief. 5. Download the kit or copy the prompt into the coding assistant you already use. YOUR DOWNLOAD • brief.md — implementation instructions and captured evidence. • component.html — an isolated static snapshot. • styles.css — observed computed styles. • capture.json — structured capture data and limitations. • reference.png — the visible part of the selection, when available and included. KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING SectionKit shows capture limitations before export. Images are represented by placeholders in the isolated preview; image URLs are references, not bundled files. Font family names are recorded, but font files are not included, so custom typography may differ. The screenshot covers only the visible intersection of the section with the viewport. This is a static reference at one viewport, not a complete working clone. Responsive rules, hover states, animations and application behavior still need implementation. Choosing a framework changes the brief; it does not automatically convert the snapshot into framework source code. Complex layouts may need manual adjustment. LOCAL BY DEFAULT No account or API key is needed. Capture starts only when you choose it. The extension does not automatically send captures to any server or AI service. Captures and your brief edits stay on your device until you export, copy or delete them. It keeps up to five recent captures, subject to storage limits, and provides deletion controls. Review visible text and screenshots for private information before sharing them. Browser settings pages, the Chrome Web Store, PDF viewers and embedded frame contents are not supported. Use captured references and assets only where you are authorized to do so.
