Web Secure is a first of its kind chrome extension which can be configured to use the security vendor of your choice. Download and install web secure from chrome store, post installation, surf the web as you normally would. Now, you will be able to see the sec plugs icon turning green for all the clean hits and a red floater for all the malicious URLs and you can perform automated and manual on-demand URL scans. The plugin icon also shows you how many URLs you have scanned across all sites. To configure the extension to use the vendor of your choice, you need to register in secplugs.com Web Secure sends the url of the web pages you browse to for analysis by the vendor that you can specify. After registering in Secplugs.com, Login with your username and go to Dashboard -> Admin Console to manage the plugin. Now, Go to Chrome browser, right click on the web secure icon, copy the API key from Admin console and close the plugin page. You can now configure which security vendor Web Secure uses and see the activity in your private account. If you don't register you can still use Web Secure but your web pages will be scanned using using the default anonymous account settings and the urls scanned will be visible in the public activity area.
