)Overview
Search selected text on your own editable list of websites.
Search selected text on your favorite websites using the right-click menu or an optional quick popup. Highlight text, choose a website, and open the results in a new tab or a separate window. IMDb, Reddit, and YouTube are included by default, and you can add your own search websites. Features: - Add, edit, reorder, enable, or remove search websites. - Show clickable website icons beside selected text with the optional quick popup. - Customize the popup's position and number of icons per row. Settings and popup themes follow your system by default and remember your manual light or dark choices. - Choose which websites appear in the popup and add short icon labels. - Use a different website's icon for any search option without changing its search destination. - Open searches in new windows or choose Incognito for private searches. - Reuse search windows by source tab, by search link, or keep all New window searches in one dedicated window. - Export your website list, including custom icon sources and per-site choices. - Import a list for review before saving. Apply it when ready, or discard it to keep your saved options. - Read the version history in the settings-page Changelog. To add a website, search it for a sample word, copy the results URL, and replace that word with #SEARCHIT#. Save your changes, then select text and choose where to search. The quick popup is optional and requests website access when enabled. Search options and preferences are stored locally in your browser. No analytics or tracking. Selected text is sent to the chosen website only when you launch a search. SEARCHIT is open source under the MIT license.
