Search Selection
Overview
Right-click selected text to search it on your preferred search engine, in a new tab.
This extension brings back the classic “Search for …” option to the right-click menu. Your search result appears in a new tab with your browser's default search engine. This extension was created as a simpler and lower-latency alternative to Chrome's new side panel search, for users who prefer results in a separate tab. When you highlight text on any webpage and choose the option with the magnifying glass, the selected text opens in a new tab with your default search engine. Features: - Opens search results in a new tab next to the current one. - Works on any page where text can be highlighted. - Localized interface: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Russian, Greek, Japanese and Simplified Chinese. No data collection, no tracking, no background network requests, only the functionality you need. This extension is lightweight, open source, and designed to stay out of the way until you need it.
