Overview

Right-click menu option to search selected text with Google in a New Tab.

With a recent update for Chrome Beta, the default right-click menu option to search with Google began opening results in a side panel, seemingly now impossible to disable with flags. This extension brings back the familiar functionality by restoring the old context menu button to search the selected text with Google in a new tab instead. It's important to note that this extension does not replace the default menu item; it simply adds an additional option, as default menu items cannot be adjusted. Update 2023-07-20: Today's update for Chrome Beta (116.0.5845.42) has implemented a Right-click menu option to search selected text in a New Tab, rendering this extension mostly useless. I'll keep it up on the store for now though, in case anyone is using the affected version or has a specific use case for it. Thank you Google :)
