Overview

Full-text search across all your Claude.ai conversations, including chats inside projects. Everything stays on your machine.

Find anything you've ever discussed with Claude — and any file in your projects — in seconds. Search for Claude Chats adds a fast, private search panel to claude.ai, with two tabs: • **Chats** — full-text search across all your conversations, including the ones tucked inside projects. • **Project Files** — list and search the files in your projects, without scrolling through each one by hand. — Your data never leaves your computer — This is the whole point of the extension: your chats and project files are indexed locally, in your own browser, and search runs entirely on your machine. Nothing is uploaded. There are no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no third parties. The developer never sees your data, because the data never goes anywhere. When you close or uninstall the extension, the local index goes with it. — Search your chats — • Full-text search across every Claude.ai conversation, including chats inside projects • Matches highlighted in context, with a count per conversation • Filter by who said it (you or Claude), by one or more projects, and by date range • Sort by best match or most recent • Use quotes for an exact phrase, or switch on regex for power searches • Jump straight to the original conversation with one click — Browse and search your project files — • A dedicated Project Files tab that automatically focuses the project you're viewing — or pick several projects at once • List every file in a project, or search by file name • Search inside the text of your project knowledge documents, not just their names • Files grouped by project and tagged by where they live (project knowledge vs. attached in a chat) • Sort alphabetically or by most recently added — How it works — The extension reads your conversations and project files using your existing Claude.ai login (the same session you're already using in your browser) and builds a private index on your device. It keeps that index up to date quietly in the background, so search is always ready when you need it. — Privacy — Everything stays on your computer. See the full privacy policy for details. Unofficial: this extension is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic. --- A couple of notes: - I described the project knowledge files in plain language ("project knowledge documents") rather than the **CORE** label used inside the panel — clearer for someone reading the store page who hasn't opened it yet. Say the word if you'd rather the description use "CORE" to match the UI. - You may also want to bump the **short description** (132-char one) to hint at files, e.g.: *"Search all your Claude.ai chats — and the files in your projects. Indexed privately on your own computer; nothing is ever uploaded."* Want me to **update `STORE_LISTING.md` in the repo** with this new copy so it's on record, and **merge `chat-and-file-search` → `main`** now that you're shipping 1.2.0?
