Scrub — Anonymise text before AI chats

Free: hide emails, phones, IBANs and API keys before you paste into an AI chat. Runs locally; restore the answer after.

Share the idea. Keep the details. Scrub replaces detected emails, phone numbers, bank details and secrets with stable placeholders, locally on your device. Review before sharing; paste the AI's answer into the panel to restore your details. Protected paste works on popular AI chat websites (supported sites are listed on the support page): when you paste, Scrub stops the original clipboard text before the page sees it and offers the scrubbed version. Choose Review first or Automatic. Scrub never clicks Send. A counts-only bar lets you review, insert or undo. File attachments are not checked. Any other AI tool works through the side panel: scrub, copy, paste the answer back, restore. Scrub is free, with every feature: unlimited text, your private dictionary and optional saved mappings. No account or licence key. Names outside your dictionary are not guaranteed to be detected. The name heuristic flags suggestions for review; it is not a promise of complete anonymisation. Mappings stay in browser session memory by default. You can optionally save up to 50 recent mappings locally. Clear them at any time. No sync storage, analytics, uploads or remote processing. DOCX processing is available in the separate Scrub web app. PDF, file-attachment interception, automatic answer rewriting and send blocking are not included.
