)Overview
Protect your focus on X, YouTube, and Reddit by hiding feeds, recommendations, and other attention traps.
ScrollMute helps you use high-noise platforms without getting pulled into the parts designed to keep you scrolling. On supported sites, ScrollMute can hide distracting modules like home feeds, recommendations, suggested posts, trending panels, Shorts surfaces, promoted content, and other attention-heavy interface elements while leaving the useful workflows in place. Current supported platforms: - X / Twitter - YouTube - Reddit What ScrollMute is built for: - removing algorithmic clutter from supported pages - preserving useful flows like direct search, targeted navigation, and intentional visits - giving you fast local controls through the popup and full settings page - keeping your settings stored locally in the current Chrome extension release Permissions are limited and product-specific: - storage is used to save your settings and local insight counters - supported-site access is used so the extension can inspect the current page and hide distracting modules on X, YouTube, and Reddit The current Chrome extension is local-first. It does not require a login to use the current extension controls, and it does not send your browsing activity to a remote analytics service by default.
