ScrollGist transcribes the short video you're watching — Instagram Reels and Stories, Facebook videos and Reels, or a Twitter/X video post — and turns it into something you can actually keep: a summary, a plain-language explanation, and a visual map of the ideas. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open a video as you normally would. The ScrollGist panel appears beside it (or click the toolbar icon to open it in Chrome's side panel). It stays idle until you act. 2. Click "Extract Transcript with AI". The extension captures the video's audio and transcribes it. 3. Read the transcript, generate a summary, a Feynman-style explanation, or an idea map — and copy any of it. WHAT YOU GET • Accurate transcription, powered by state-of-the-art speech-to-text — even for short looping videos. • Key-points summary: the main idea, the key points, and concrete action items. • Feynman explanation: the content re-explained in simple language with everyday analogies. • Idea map: a semantic tree of the concepts and how they connect. Expand any branch for a deeper explanation, or export the map as a PNG. • On-screen text: when the message is written on the video itself — lists, titles, burned-in subtitles — read it straight from the picture. • Post-text analysis: when the message is in the caption rather than the audio, analyze the text directly. • 20 output languages: get your results in your own language, whatever language the video is in.
