We have transformed our screen reader emulator into a Complete Accessibility Auditing Suite, designed by and for experts. In version 8.0.0, we maintain all the voice emulation features you already know , taking an evolutionary leap by adding a powerful static validation engine and Live Monitors to detect critical accessibility barriers (WCAG 2.1 and 2.2) that traditional automated tools overlook. ScreenVox Free: Emulation and Advanced Static Analysis We keep all the keyboard navigation and emulation functionalities intact, but we have added a new "Test" tab with 1-click audits to validate semantic structure: • Images (SC 1.1.1): Strict detection of missing or "noisy" alt attributes (e.g., "image of...", "graphic"). • Forms (SC 3.3.2): Rigorous validation of programmatic labels, detecting orphaned inputs or <label> tags that are linked but empty of text. • Data Tables (SC 1.3.1): Identification of complex tables lacking <th> header cells or logical association attributes like scope. • Skip Links (SC 2.4.1): New test to verify that "Skip to main content" links work and that their destination exists and is focusable. • Heading Hierarchy (SC 1.3.1): Alerts if the page lacks an <h1> and a new advanced heuristic that detects "Fake Titles" created purely with CSS styles (large and bold fonts) instead of using semantic tags. ScreenVox PRO: Live Runtime Monitors for Modern Apps • Static analysis is not enough for modern applications (React, Vue, Angular). With the PRO license, you can now audit dynamic states live through our powerful monitors: • Focus Tracker and Keyboard Traps (SC 2.1.2): Visualizes the tab navigation trail. If the focus gets trapped in a loop (basic in fake modals), ScreenVox automatically detects it. • Spatial Jump Detection (SC 2.4.7): A new mathematical algorithm calculates the distance of focus jumps on the screen. It throws critical alerts if a jump is so large it would disorient users with restricted visual fields or those using magnification software (Zoom > 200%). • ARIA Mutation Monitor (SC 4.1.2): Listens for DOM changes in real-time. It alerts you if a dynamic element changes its visual state but the developer forgot to update aria-expanded or aria-selected , and warns critically if a visible element keeps aria-hidden="true". • Advanced UI Components Test: Specific validation rules for common interactive components , such as modals (role="dialog" and accessible names), accordions, and tabs (strict verification of aria-controls and aria-expanded) , toggles/sliders (mandatory attributes like aria-checked and aria-valuenow) , orphaned tooltips , and breadcrumbs (aria-current="page"). • Clinical Color Blindness Simulators: Audit contrast and color perception at the pixel level directly in the browser. We incorporated medical-precision filters (SVG feColorMatrix) to simulate live : Protanopia , Deuteranopia , Tritanopia , and Achromatopsia (pure grayscale). • QA Report Export: Added an export button to save failures detected by static tests into a CSV file ready for QA reports.
