Overview
Record selected regions, export MP4 where supported, compress video, create GIFs, capture screenshots and manage recordings locally.
ScreenVexa is a private, local-first 4k screen recorder, audio recorder, screenshot and export workspace for Chrome. RECORD ONLY WHAT YOU CHOOSE - Capture a browser tab, application window, entire screen or selected region. - Add an optional microphone, shared audio and webcam overlay. - Choose 720p, 1080p, 4K UHD or the original source. - Record at 30 or 60 FPS when supported by the selected source and computer. CONTROL THE RECORDING - Pause, resume, stop and mute the microphone. - Add timestamped markers for important moments. - Use a floating controller or the Chrome side-panel workspace. - Show optional cursor spotlight, click effects and live drawing tools on supported webpages. - Receive storage warnings and recover completed recording data after an interruption when available. KEEP RECORDINGS AVAILABLE Completed recordings stay in ScreenVexa as playable local copies until you delete them. Starting a new recording does not remove earlier recordings. Use the local library to: - Play, rename, search and pin recordings. - Trim a selected time range while preserving the original. - Download again or save to Chrome Downloads, a Save As dialog or a folder you explicitly selected. - Delete individual local copies or clear the library. LOCAL EXPORT TOOLS - Export a saved recording as MP4 when Chrome and the device provide a compatible encoder. - Compress video with practical size and quality presets. - Create a short animated GIF from a selected range. - Preview generated files before downloading. - Keep the original recording unchanged. SCREENSHOTS AND EDITING Capture the visible webpage, a full scrolling page or a selected area. Edit screenshots locally with crop, pen, highlighter, arrows, rectangles, text, privacy pixelation, rotate, undo and redo. Save as PNG, JPG or WebP, or copy the image to the clipboard. PRIVACY BY DESIGN - No account required. - No forced cloud upload. - No analytics or advertising trackers. - No watermark. - No remote executable code. - Recordings, screenshots, trimming, MP4 export, compression and GIF creation remain on the user's device. Chrome always lets the user choose which tab, window or screen to share. Microphone, camera and folder access are requested only when the user deliberately enables the related feature. NOTES MP4 availability, system audio, 4K and 60 FPS depend on Chrome, the operating system, the selected source and device capabilities. WebM remains available as the reliable recording format. WHAT'S NEW IN VERSION 1.3.1 - Added persistent Saved Recordings so a new recording no longer removes earlier results. - Added 4K UHD, webcam overlay, custom save folders, floating controls and microphone tools. - Added selected-area screenshots, stronger editing and interrupted-recording recovery. - Added the side-panel workspace, searchable and pinnable recordings, cursor effects, live drawing, markers, shortcuts and local trimming. - Added selected-region video recording, MP4 export where supported, compression presets and GIF creation. - Fixed GIF exports that could appear as a thin strip or be rejected by image viewers.
