ScreenShield — Redact Your Screen Before You Record
Overview
One toggle blurs emails, IDs, ARNs, keys & IPs on AWS, GCP, Azure & any site — record and stream safely.
ScreenShield makes it safe to screen-record or live-stream your cloud consoles — without leaking the sensitive identifiers that normally end up in your videos. Cloud consoles (AWS, GCP, Azure) are protected automatically. For every other site, flip on Recording mode and ScreenShield blurs sensitive data across whatever you're sharing. What it blurs automatically: • Email addresses • AWS: account IDs (plain and dashed), ARNs, access keys (AKIA/ASIA), resource IDs (i-, vol-, vpc-, subnet-, sg-, ami-, eni-, snap-, and more), public IPv4 and DNS names, sign-in aliases, service endpoints (RDS, ElastiCache, Redshift, OpenSearch) • GCP: project IDs and endpoints (App Engine, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions) • Azure: subscription/tenant IDs and endpoints (Blob, SQL, Key Vault) • Generic secrets: JWTs, UUIDs, credit card numbers, SSH key fingerprints It works across the whole page — including the iframe-based service pages (EC2, security groups, and more) that other extensions miss. Most blur tools only hide the account number in the top-right corner. ScreenShield hides everything, everywhere, and redacts before the page even paints — so nothing flashes on screen, even if a viewer pauses a rewind. Need to hide something custom — a tag value, a resource name, a chart? Turn on the click-to-blur picker and click any element. Your picks persist across reloads. Need to read or copy a blurred value while recording? • Alt+Click copies the real value to your clipboard without showing it on screen. • Alt+Shift+Click reveals it briefly (auto re-blurs after 5 seconds). Tune the blur strength with the slider in the popup. Privacy first: ScreenShield runs entirely in your browser. No servers, no analytics, no data collection. Page text is read only to blur it locally — nothing is ever transmitted. How to use: 1. Open a cloud console (AWS / GCP / Azure) — sensitive values blur automatically. 2. On any other site, click the toolbar icon and turn on Recording mode. 3. Use the click-to-blur picker for custom values; Alt+Click to copy one, Alt+Shift+Click to peek. 4. Record with confidence. Note: Chrome blocks all extensions from running on its own pages (the Web Store, the extensions dashboard, and chrome:// pages), so those cannot be redacted.
