Overview

Record your screen, a window or a tab with your camera and microphone, and save an MP4. Free, no time limit, no watermark.

Record your screen, a window or a browser tab, with your camera in a bubble and your microphone, and save it as an MP4 that plays anywhere. It's free, with no account, no watermark and no time limit. HOW IT WORKS 1. Click the Mastershot button in Chrome's toolbar (or press Alt+Shift+R). The menu opens on the page you're on. 2. Choose Full screen, Window or Current tab, and switch your camera, microphone and the computer's sound on or off. Your camera shows in a bubble straight away, so you can check how you look before you start. 3. Press Start recording. After a 3-2-1 countdown, it's recording. 4. Stop when you're done. Your recording opens, ready to play, download, trim or crop. WHILE YOU RECORD • The camera bubble and the controls sit in the corner of the page and follow you from tab to tab. Drag them anywhere, and make the bubble small, medium or large. • Pause, restart or delete from the controls, or with shortcuts: Alt+Shift+S stops and saves, Alt+Shift+P pauses, Alt+Shift+C deletes. • Turn your camera or microphone off and on, or switch to a different one, without stopping. • Hide the controls in Settings if you'd rather not see them in the video. AFTER YOU RECORD • Recordings are normal MP4 files (H.264 video, AAC sound), not WebM, so they open in any player, editor or upload form. • Your recordings are listed by day, each with a preview you can scrub through by moving the mouse across it. • Trim, crop, turn, flip, resize or mute a recording right on the recordings page. The edit is saved as a copy next to the original. • Recordings are kept in Chrome on your computer until you download or delete them. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Everything happens in Chrome on your computer. Your recordings, camera and microphone are never uploaded, the extension doesn't need an account, and it doesn't collect any data. It shows its menu and camera on the pages you record but never reads or changes what's on them. Made by Mastershot (mastershot.app), the free video tools that run in your browser.
