2 ways to get around the lack of on/off toggle: A. 1. Get this extension: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/ailfldpmpboolaihojfagmmfbhcgohne?hl=en It TURNS OFF all extensions. 2. Go to 'Whitelist' option for it and add ALL EXCEPT Chromevox to whitelist. 3. Start 'Disable all extensions' and now Chromevox is disabled, all the others will keep running. 4. Turn off 'Disable all extensions' and Chromevox is back on. B. Extensions Tab 1. Start by REMOVING Chromevox by clicking on button ... Show more

There needs to be an easy way to enable/disable the plugin so that developers can quickly test pages with a screen reader. The plugin breaks the extensions tab so if you don't keep it open then the only way to disable it involves removing the plugin first.

It works well but it does not allow you to disable it. Once you enable it, your view of the extensions and all of their options are obstructed.

Utter garbage. You try to deactivate it, it says "ChromeVox is now inactive", and then happily continues to run. Then you try to deactivate it temporarily from the extensions page, only to notice that it wrecked the extension page layout somehow, and you're unable to do it! Had to remove it completely. Is this really supposed to be the official Google's screen reader? Beyond disappointing.
