Screen Gatekeeper

A funny forced-break extension that blocks distraction sites with an animated gatekeeper.

Screen Gatekeeper helps you stop losing time on distracting sites by turning your usage limit into something visible, funny, and hard to ignore. Choose the sites you want to guard, set a usage limit, and pick a break length. When time runs out, Screen Gatekeeper drops a large animated Shiba over the page with a countdown until the break ends. It tracks active time only on sites you enable, pauses when the tab is hidden or unfocused, and shows a full-page break overlay when your limit is reached. You can use the built-in Shiba gatekeeper or load your own local WebM, PNG, or WebP gatekeeper assets. Screen Gatekeeper also supports user-added custom sites with explicit Chrome permission prompts. Settings, timer state, and custom gatekeeper files are stored locally. There is no account, no ads, no analytics, and no external network calls.
