Screely is a fast, lightweight screenshot and active-tab recording extension for Chromium-based browsers, including Chrome, Edge, Opera, Brave, and more. Capture a visible tab, a precise selection, a specific page element, or an entire scrolling page. Record the active tab in up to 1080p. Then edit, enhance, and organize everything in a private local Gallery—without uploading your captures or installing external software. Why Screely? Many capture tools are either too limited or overloaded with features you never use. Screely keeps the workflow focused: Capture or record → edit and enhance → organize and download. One extension gives you accurate screenshots, active-tab video recording, a capable image editor, polished browser mockups, and a searchable local Gallery. Screenshot capture modes • Visible Area — Capture the browser view currently on screen. • Custom Selection — Draw a precise region and capture only what you need. • Full Page — Automatically scroll and stitch long pages into one screenshot, with support for lazy-loaded content and tall pages. • Page Element — Pick a specific element, including supported scrollable elements, and capture it without the surrounding page. Use the popup or keyboard shortcuts to start captures quickly. Active-tab video recording Create short, focused recordings without leaving your browser: • Record the active browser tab only. • Choose 720p or 1080p quality. • Record for up to 3 minutes. • Include tab audio when needed. • Use countdown, pause, resume, stop, and discard controls. • Save locally as MP4 where supported, with a WebM fallback when required by the browser. Microphone and webcam access are not requested. Screely records only after you explicitly start a recording. Editable recording effects Make walkthroughs and demonstrations easier to follow: • Highlight the cursor. • Add animated click ripples. • Show privacy-safe shortcuts and non-text keystrokes when enabled. • Change effect colors, sizes, opacity, duration, and keystroke position later. • Preview changes and save a separate enhanced copy while keeping the original recording unchanged. Typed text in editable fields and password inputs is not stored by the keystroke effect. Screenshots use a configurable local history limit. Recordings remain available until you delete them.
