Overview

Select text, precise math, or a screen region and get a contextual AI explanation.

Select a sentence, an equation, an image, or part of the screen and ask about it. For longer questions, open the side panel and chat with the current page or a PDF. Site-wide context is available when you explicitly turn it on for a question. What it handles: - Selected text and precise parts of rendered math. - Pages and PDFs, with page numbers kept intact. - Images and visible screen regions. - Hosted AI providers, Ollama, and optional local CLI bridges. - Per-site blocking or allowlist mode. There is no Scholia account, backend, advertising, analytics, or telemetry. Page ranking, PDF extraction, image resizing, and site indexing happen locally. When you ask a question, the question and relevant source material go straight to the AI provider or endpoint you chose. Provider terms and usage charges may apply. You'll need your own provider key or local model. Model answers can be wrong, so check important claims against the source.
