ScholarThread Web Clipper saves what you are reading to your research library. Found a paper on a journal site, arXiv, PubMed or your university library? Click the ScholarThread icon and it goes into your ScholarThread library, with its title, authors, journal, year and DOI. Found something that is not a paper, such as a report, a blog post or documentation? It is saved as a web reference together with the readable text of the page, so you can search it and ask questions about it later. HOW IT WORKS • Open a paper or a page and click the icon. ScholarThread reads the citation information of the page, the same information publishers provide to search engines and reference managers. • If you can open the PDF, for example through your university login, ScholarThread saves it too, using your own browser session. It never bypasses a paywall and never asks for your publisher password. • Papers you already have are recognised, so nothing is saved twice. • Everything lands in your ScholarThread library, a research thinking environment where you read and highlight PDFs, write notes that link back to the source, see how papers connect, and ask questions of your library. YOUR PRIVACY • The extension reads a page only when you click its icon. It does not watch your browsing and does not read your history. • Information leaves your browser only when you save, and only to your own ScholarThread account: the paper's details, the PDF if you can open it, and, for a web page, its readable text. • You need a ScholarThread account to use it (a free account is enough).
