Keep a traceable reading list while browsing research pages. ScholarMuse Research Companion reads the current HTML page’s citation metadata when you click Read current page. Review or edit the title, authors, year, DOI and source URL before saving. Missing fields stay blank: metadata capture is not independent citation verification. Your reading list stays on this device. Export it as BibTeX or RIS, copy an individual citation, or remove individual entries. The page context menu can save the current paper locally. The extension does not scan your browsing history or run automatically on all pages. Open ScholarMuse’s citation checker, retraction checker, dataset finder or journal checker when you need more research tools. These links open the website without sending the current paper or page content; you choose what to paste there. Website tool limits and any paid website functionality are separate from the extension. English and Chinese interfaces are included. The reading list supports up to 100 entries. It does not bypass paywalls, process PDF full text, guarantee citation accuracy, or independently check retraction status simply by capturing metadata. Built-in browser pages are unsupported.
