Scholarcy Browser Extension
Overview
Summarizes research articles, creates interactive flashcards, highlights key points, links to open-access versions of each citation
Scholarcyâ„¢ is the solution to that pile of papers on your virtual desk. It can save up to 70% of the time needed to get the key information from an article, helping you with literature screening and reviews. This Extension gives you the key points of any article or research paper you have open in your browser. It creates a referenced summary with important points highlighted and generates a background reading list for those new to a field. Need to see how a paper builds on previous research? Our new 'Comparative Analysis' engine highlights this for you. Subscribers to our premium app, Scholarcy Library, will get unlimited use of this Extension and can also save, share, annotate and export their Summary Flashcards. Scholarcy locates open-access PDFs for each reference from Google Scholar, arXiv and elsewhere, and can also be configured to extract figures and tables. To provide this service, our Extension needs to read and process the contents of the current web page. Alternatively, it will locate the PDF for the article. Use the new 'Source priority' option to switch between the HTML and PDF processing. For PDF files, the article must be open access. For more information on how we use this data, please read our FAQ: https://www.scholarcy.com/faq/ and Privacy Policy: https://www.scholarcy.com/privacy-policy/

Doesn't work, I tried it on an article and said "could not establish connection. Receiving end does not exist." EDIT it works if you refresh your page

Hi Goutham, thanks for your feedback. The extension works with the current page in your browser. If you try it with an empty page you may see that error. It works best with real content to analyse for you.

If you are like in academia and want to manually upload a ton of stuff this is for you -- the ChatGPT integrated LLM is not valuable and the plugin really has not added any value for me yet.. Id love to be proven wrong but I feel like the pitch was access 100M+ research papers and scientific etc... I have had to find and upload them myself and the research I was provided in return was almost useless practically. So I learned but it was not actionable at all = academia summarized pretty clearly!

Hi Amro, thanks for your feedback! Our Chrome Extension works with the current document you have open in your browser, so there's nothing to upload. All the best, Phil
