It does not invent those sections or scrape recommendation sidebars. Without an OpenAI API key, summaries are produced on-device from the extracted text. You may optionally save your own key in Settings; that key stays on your device and is sent only to api.openai.com after you grant optional permission. Privacy There is no application backend. Paper notes, daily usage counts, and any API key remain on your computer. Payments are handled by ExtensionPay and Stripe. You can delete local data from Settings. Always proofread generated citations before submitting a manuscript.
