Schema Markup Checker – Structured Data & Rich Results Validator
Overview
Schema markup validator: test JSON-LD & Microdata structured data against schema.org and Google rich results. Scan whole sites.
Schema Markup Checker validates the structured data on any page against the schema.org vocabulary and Google's rich result requirements. Click the icon and in a second you see every schema type on the page, whether it qualifies for a rich result, and what exactly to fix: the property, a plain-language hint and the line in the code. Need more than one page? The whole-site scan finds pages through the sitemap and internal links, checks up to 10,000 of them, and shows which types and issues occur where. Export the report to CSV or Excel. All checks run in your browser. Free, no account, no sign-up. How to use 1. Open any web page in Chrome 2. Click the Schema Markup Checker icon in the toolbar. The badge on the icon shows the number of errors 3. Read the cards: one per schema type, green when valid, yellow with warnings, red with errors 4. Open a card to see each issue with the property path, a hint, and the JSON with the broken lines highlighted 5. Click "Highlight" to outline Microdata items right on the page, or "Show on page" to jump to one 6. Switch to "All issues" to filter by severity or text, and click "CSV" to download them Whole-site scan 1. Click "Whole site" in the extension header, or enter any site address on the scan page 2. Set a page limit (up to 10,000) and click "Start scan". Chrome asks for access to that one site only 3. The scanner reads robots.txt and sitemap.xml, follows internal links and checks every page it finds 4. See totals, the types used across the site, and every issue with the pages it occurs on. Filter pages with errors, warnings, no structured data or load failures 5. Stop and continue any time. The last scans of each site are kept in your browser, so you can come back to them 6. Export to CSV or Excel, or open the same scan on schema-checker.com to get a link you can share What it checks • Syntax: broken JSON-LD with the exact line and column, malformed Microdata • schema.org vocabulary: unknown or misspelled types and properties, properties that do not belong to the type, and values of the wrong kind, such as a date in the wrong format • Google rich results: the required and recommended properties for products, articles, recipes, events, job postings, local businesses and the other result types Google supports • Google notices: for example, that FAQ and How-to rich results are no longer shown for most sites What you get in the CSV report Page check: one row per issue, with what is wrong, how to fix it and exactly where it is, down to the line and column. Whole-site scan: the same rows with the page they were found on, plus an overview of every page. The Excel file has both sheets in one workbook. Who finds it useful SEO specialists: audit structured data before and after a release, find pages that lost rich result eligibility, and hand clients a clear report. Developers: debug JSON-LD templates and Microdata in staging, with the exact line of every error. Content and e-commerce teams: make sure products, articles, recipes and events carry the properties Google needs. Agencies: scan a client's whole site in minutes and export the findings to a spreadsheet. Frequently asked questions Q: Which formats are supported? A: JSON-LD and Microdata. RDFa is detected and reported, but not validated yet. Q: Does it see markup added by JavaScript? A: Yes, on the page check: the extension reads the page as your browser rendered it, including markup injected by scripts or tag managers. The whole-site scan reads the HTML of each page as the server sends it, so markup added by JavaScript is not seen there. Q: How is this different from Google's Rich Results Test? A: The Rich Results Test checks one URL at a time. Schema Markup Checker checks the page you are on in one click, validates against the full schema.org vocabulary as well as Google's rules, points to the exact line, and scans a whole site. Q: Does it work on pages behind a login or on a staging server? A: Yes, the page check works on any page open in your browser, including pages behind a login, on localhost and on staging servers. Q: Is my data safe? A: Checks run entirely in your browser. The extension reads only the tab you click on and asks for access to a site only when you start a whole-site scan. Nothing is sent to our servers, unless you choose "Open on the website" for a scan. No tracking, no account. Q: Is it free? A: Yes, every feature is free. The interface is available in English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian and Japanese.
