Scaredy Cat blurs horror posters and trailers before you see them, so you can browse without bracing for a jump scare. HOW IT WORKS Scaredy Cat reads the titles, captions and genre labels around each picture on a page. When the text names a horror movie, it blurs the picture. When the text is unclear, it checks the picture with a small image model that runs on your computer. It works on movie and streaming sites like IMDb and Letterboxd. It also reads video results, Shorts and ads on any other site you visit. WHEN SOMETHING IS BLURRED The blur card tells you what was hidden. You can show it with one click, or mark it as not horror so Scaredy Cat leaves it alone next time. For many horror titles the card also offers a short summary of what happens, so you can know the ending without watching the movie. SETTINGS Choose low, medium or high sensitivity in the popup. You can pause Scaredy Cat on any site, and the toolbar icon shows how many things it hid on the page you're on. PRIVACY Detection runs on your computer, and the pictures Scaredy Cat checks are never uploaded. You don't need an account, and the extension has no ads or tracking code. Every 6 hours, Scaredy Cat downloads an updated list of horror titles from scaredycat.app. Reports about wrong or missed blurs are off until you turn them on, and the consent message lists everything a report contains before anything is sent.
