Turn chess content on any webpage into a usable position or game without leaving the page. Sign in once, choose Board position or Handwritten scoresheet, and draw around the chess content. ScanChess crops the selected area locally, runs recognition through your ScanChess account, and shows the result directly in the browser side panel. Features: • Board image or paused video frame to FEN. • Handwritten scoresheet to PGN. • Recognition progress and results inside the side panel. • Visual board, FEN, player names and move list. • Clear markers for uncertain squares and low-confidence moves. • Copy FEN or PGN without opening another page. • Stable request IDs prevent repeat charges for the same image and scan type. • New scoresheet scans are saved to your ScanChess account when possible. • Optional full review on scanchess.com. • English and Simplified Chinese interface. Sign in with email or Google. Board recognition uses 1 credit and scoresheet recognition uses 2 credits. The server confirms account, verification and credit rules before recognition begins. Privacy: screenshots are captured only after you choose a scan action. Region selection and cropping happen locally. Only the selected image region is sent to the ScanChess API and its disclosed AI recognition providers. The session token stays in protected extension storage, current results stay in browser session storage, and the extension does not collect browsing history or include analytics scripts. Limitations: capture covers the visible page. Pause videos first. Browser settings, extension stores and other protected pages cannot be captured.
