Adless can help close that gap — but only if you switch this on. If you turn it on, then whenever one of the Shield's scam checks fires, Adless reports two things and nothing else: which check fired (credential sentry, scare page, seed phrase, fake checkout, paste-and-run, clipboard swap or brand-clone), and the bare domain it fired on — for example evil-site.com, with any subdomain stripped. Never the full web address, never the page or its contents, never your history, never anything you typed or copied, and no identifier of any kind: nothing in the report says which browser or which person it came from. It is off by default and stays off until you say yes. You are asked once, on a Shield warning card. "No" is final and is never asked again. You can switch it on or off at any time in Settings → Protection → "Help protect others". When five reports name the same domain within seven days, that domain enters a queue a human reviews. Nothing is ever added to Adless's threat lists automatically. Straight about the trade: this report protects the next person, not you. Six of the seven checks send only after they have already warned you, on your device. The seventh, brand-clone, is still being validated — it reports what it found without showing you anything, which is exactly why it is named above rather than left unsaid. Either way this is the only thing Adless can send that you did not tap, which is exactly why it is off until you turn it on. ────────────────────────────────────────────── 🧹 CALMER, CLEANER PAGES — PRO ────────────────────────────────────────────── ✓ Cookie-banner auto-hiding (Pro) — clears consent banners across all the major consent-management platforms, plus common generic banner markup. Two things do go to Chrome's synced storage — and so to your Google account — and neither is yours to switch off: our payment library's licence record (an install date, a licence key, and your subscription status), and, once you start a trial, one random anonymous trial id Adless generates so the trial can't be reset by clearing storage. Both are payment/entitlement plumbing, not browsing data: no URL, no domain, no page, nothing you typed. • When you tap Start free trial, Adless sends our own server a one-way hash of that random trial id, so the 7-day trial is anchored and can't be reset by clearing storage. It carries no browsing data, no site, no email; it fires only on that tap, never on a schedule; and it goes only to us, never a third party. • Exactly three things can ever leave that mention a site you visited, and none of them happens on its own: (1) a breakage report you send by tapping "Send report" — that one site's domain, the rule categories you had on, and a coarse version; (2) a false-positive report you send from a warning page, which does include the full address of the page we blocked — it has to, or we cannot investigate a wrong block — and which shows you those exact bytes before anything is sent; and (3) the "Help protect others" scam report described above, which is off by default and carries only which scam check fired plus a bare domain.
