About this extension The SAWD TradeMe Scraper is a powerful tool designed to help users quickly and efficiently extract detailed product information from the Trade Me website. This extension works seamlessly with a companion WordPress plugin, allowing you to automatically import scraped product data—including titles, prices, descriptions, images, and item IDs—into your WooCommerce store as new products, streamlining your e-commerce operations. Features This extension provides two efficient methods for gathering data. You can input a Trade Me search or category page URL, and the scraper will automatically extract a list of all product links from that listing page using selectors like a.tm-marketplace-search-card__detail-section--link. Alternatively, you can manually paste a list of specific individual product URLs. The extension manages the entire scraping process in a dedicated background tab, collecting the detailed product information and organizing it into a clear, structured table on the active tab. How to use After installing the extension, simply click the icon on any tab to open the scraper interface, which is titled "Trade Me Product Scraper". You can paste a category URL (e.g., from https://www.trademe.co.nz/) into the top field and click "Get Product URLs From Listing Page" to quickly populate the main text area with links. Then, click "Start Scrape" to begin the data extraction. The extension will sequentially visit each URL, pull data like the title, price, and item ID (referred to as ASIN in the code), and display the results in a table. Once complete, an alert will confirm the data is ready to be processed by your companion WooCommerce integration plugin.
